Koda and I really need help!
To the family, friends and the good people of the internet beyond.
Such a difficult thing to write this and Im sorry if its muddled, romantic or unclear. Such are the times.

My best friend and partner of 1000+ naps is in terribly dire straits at present, and I sorely need your help to get him back on all four of his feet.
5 Nights ago out of the blue something suddenly went very wrong with Koda, and he was rushed to the 24 hour vet. He had a twisted spleen and was visibly and audibly in absolute agony. The only way in which to save his life was a €3,500 emergency operation to reverse the damage.
We were advised the operation was not covered by insurance here and that it would be a private fee. Mostly pet insurance here covers only liability, and health unfortunately is very limited.
Of course the operation was the only option.
Despite being anaemic at the time and at a very high risk with the complications of kidney disease- he made it through the operation at 5am. The vets did emergency bloods as they were actually thinking that putting him down may be the only option. Since that day he has literally astonished us and all of the nurses in the Veterinary Hospital in Tegel with his fighting spirit and will to live.
I am an ott dog dad. I include my dog in everything , and consider him to be of the top 3 relationships in my life. I don't want that to change now(but for acts of generosity following this ad of course).
Those of you that know us personally know the depths of my love for Koda, and the bond we share. It is almost impossible to explain in writing, like things of this nature are. I love him so greatly, and I truly make his life and the quality of it such a huge priority. I know without a doubt that he absolutely loves life. He loves his life, because it is such a sweet one, filled with love and warmth and fun. He knows he has something worth fighting for. He doesn't want the party to end so to speak.
I honestly believe this is why he endures so much. He always comes back. Im welling up writing this in particular, because I am so proud of him. It is not the first time Ive seen him survive. I know he is so strong because he is so loved
He received a near terminal diagnosis due to his kidneys completely failing this past august. He is now back, to literally everyones surprise, healthy and foolish as ever. You cant keep a good dog down it seems. The way this dog survives and plays the hands life deals him is inspiring.
All this being said, he is still a very very sick dog right now.
This previous condition was immensely expensive to treat and is one of the main reasons the bills now are unsurmountable to the point of me having to write this.

The problem is that even having received the permission to return home today, we cannot (unbelievably) remove Koda from the veterinary hospital without clearing this principal 3500e entirely.
It is insane, cruel, and goes directly against his betterment. Im genuinely terrified and heartbroken at leaving him.
He is still there and not allowed to return to us to recover, figuratively and quite literally on ransom.

I have 1000e and if I can raise 2000e here I know I can get absolutely get it over the line, get him home and give him chance to beat this one too.
I know christmas is next week and everyone has their money nearly spent before its in their hands. However, if you can spare a thought and any amount whatsoever, 5e, anything at all to help me bring my sick dog home- know that everything helps.
Give us this one nap that we almost thought we'd never have, and we'll never ask for anything for christmas again.
