** UPDATE ** I have been blessed enough to have had a camera donated to me by one of my amazing followers! I am so thankful to everyone who has read my story and donated money to help! This has helped me so very much and I will be able to keep my page going and these funds will be so very helpful for costs such as website, adobe suite for editing and getting images printed to donate on as a thank you to other volunteers and carers that do incredible work for our Koalas! I have no words that can express my gratitude for all the support I am just speechless! For the last 6+ years I have been dedicating my time to educate people from all over the world about Koalas! I have visited many zoos, sanctuaries, wildlife hospitals and reserves and told their story through my lens!
Sadly the life of my camera has come to an end, leaving me without a way of sharing my passion and love for this unique species!
Over the years I have learnt so much about koalas and the more I learn the more I want the world to see them as I do! I need everyone to want to protect them and I truly believe .......
'Conservation starts with Education'!
By donating, I will be able to continue capturing the hearts of millions and hopefully save this amazing species!
Koalas are at risk of becoming EXTINCT in my local area so by capturing moments with Koalas and educating locals on what to look out for in a sick or injured Koala I could save the lives of the remaining Koalas in this area!
My Instagram page @koalakrusader was started when I fell in love with a Quirky Koala named 'JB'. He was such a character... sadly one day he passed away and I wanted to learn WHY and HOW!?
This began my journey to becoming Koalakrusader! On my quest to learn all I could about Koalas, I quickly became aware that these guys are in SERIOUS trouble! There are just so many things that can and are going wrong and we are still only learning the causes and prevention let alone the cures!
My camera is my main tool to getting my message across... I often take photos and give them to places for education and signage without charge because I'm doing it for the Koalas!
Keeping my page up to date takes a lot of time and out of pocket expenses for things like car, petrol, website, adobe suite - these costs are on going month to month on top of the cost of living which I have been covering since the beginning.
This is my passion and I want to be able to continue my dream and even hopefully one day purchase my own piece of land on the Gold Coast which can house sick and injured Koalas for rehabilitation and even a education center for people to come visit!
Please help me continue my passion to SAVE THE KOALA!
