Help Jennifer Leigh Get the Medical Care She Needs to Stay Alive
Our good friend and fellow Turbojugend member Jennifer Leigh is in need. Let’s come together as a community right now and lend a hand.
Jennifer is an extremely talented tattoo artist, an American who has resided in Europe for almost a decade. She was recently diagnosed with end-stage renal failure (ESRD). There is no cure, however she can be kept alive with dialysis and a kidney transplant. She’s only 46 years young, and has a lot of life left to live.
Returning to the states is not an option for Jennifer. Although she would qualify for Medicaid, she would still require additional insurance to cover the exorbitant cost of her care. The U.S. would also cut off funding for her medication after 36 months. These medications are a life-long necessity and can cost approximately $20,000 per year.
In order to qualify for the health insurance she needs to cover her medical costs, Jennifer must immediately make her legal status official. Please contribute whatever you can to help us reach our €7000 goal to make this happen. Since Jennifer is currently unable to work, anything extra we raise will go toward her living expenses.
We don’t have a lot of time. Healthy kidneys have 100% function.Dialysis usually begins when kidney function is at 15%. Jennifer’s kidneys are currently well below that with only 8% functionality.Please give what you can today.
