Night of the Templar Fund Raiser

Night of the Templar, starring Paul Sampson, Norman Reedus (the Walking Dead) and the last performance of the legendary, David Carradine, was written, produced and directed by Paul Sampson as an INDEPENDENT film, which means Paul raised all of the money himself. He believed in his project and saw it through to end, releasing it after FIVE years in the making. The price tag is close to a million dollars. Paul gave everything he had to make this cult classic film with an all-star cast and it is brilliant.
Here's what one Walmart reviewer had to say about the movie: I've been following Sampson's career for a few years and I was so glad to see him step out on his own to write, direct, produce and star in his own film. Night of the Templar, an indie film, is a phenom and will become a cult classic. With top quality actors like Udo Kier, Norman Reedus, David Caradine and Sampson himself, the quality of this "indie" makes it a contender against Hollywood backed and endorsed flicks. The script is flawless and the dialog is quirky, serious, engaging and even humorous. The movie is shot on film which gives it that "classic" feel. Sampson has incorporated panoramic views, majestic horses, real-to-life battle scenes and a jamming soundtrack that puts this movie in a class of its own. As for the story itself, the transitions between the past and present are effortless and the actors make their jobs look easy even though each character is extremely complex with many layers. Sampson's character "morphs" from the somewhat dorky present-day, Jake, into the powerful and determined entity he once was 700 years previously. The change - which occurs purposefully and slowly throughout the movie - is brilliantly executed and culminates to an exciting conclusion. When the movie ended, I felt satisfied that all loose ends had been tied. I was not left hanging.

Night of the Templar is a must-have for movie buffs, cult film followers and connoisseurs of brilliant indie films. Lots of action, dark yet funny lines, the right amount of kinky stuff and eye candy for both men and women. Night of the Templar is a complete package that's great for date-night, a movie-club screening, girl's night out or a cold wintry night's entertainment in front of the fireplace.

Once the movie was made however, there was little to no money left over for advertising and promotion. Paul got NO support from his distributor and the movie has floundered and struggled to get recognized.

After working with Paul for the past several weeks, I have found a Public Relations firm who is willing to work with him and give his movie the aggressive P.R. campaign Night of the Templar rightfully deserves.

For the first three months, the campaign costs $1,100/month and this is where you come in. To show your support for Paul, Norman and David, please make a donation to help get the campaign started.
