Blessings in a Backpack
Tax deductible
One in five American children face food insecurity. Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. Your support will help reach their goal of hunger-free weekends for 500,000 children by 2020!
My name is Katherine Morse and I'm very excited to be supporting this fantastic organization through driving awareness and support as a member of Blessings' Associates Board in Chicago.
I was first introduced to Blessings in a Backpack in my market research career, when I managed a study measuring the organization’s impact through teacher and student surveys. I was astounded to learn that when schools close its doors on Friday, many children go hungry for 65 hours until returning to school on Monday. It reminds me every day how incredibly fortunate we are to have free food at LinkedIn and that it should never be taken for granted.
$2.63 can feed a child for a weekend, and as little as $100 provides hunger-free weekends to a child for an entire school year.
Thank you so much for your support, every little bit counts toward filling the weekend gap for children living with food insecurity.
Thanks so much to LinkedIn For Good for matching up to $5,000 in donations!
