Launch KLB Eco-Friendly Cat Product

In order to launch this PAW-some one-of-a-kind Earth friendly cat waste management product, Kitty LitterBowl, we must secure the funding necessary to cover start-up costs (i.e., machinery, inventory and adverting) estimated at $200K.

We developed a working prototype (We use it!), applied for a patent, drafted a business plan, and created a website, social media pages and a demo video for Kitty LitterBowl. Read product details and our plan below!


Kitty LitterBowl is the PURR-fect cat waste disposal solution to meet the increasing popularity of eco-friendly pet products and small living spaces like apartments, townhomes, condos, tiny homes and recreational vehicles. 


Fulltime RV living has been a goal of Traci Thompson's for many years, but one issue gave her pause about this lifestyle change… “the dreaded cat litter box.” The thought of trying to accommodate this critical item in a confined space, not to mention enduring the messes and bad odor, was a bit unsettling.

Traci did extensive research specific to the issue, including a failed two-year attempt to toilet train her two cats, as well as using various top-rated litter boxes, only to come away dissatisfied. During her research, she also discovered that over 2 million tons of cat litter (approximately 100 thousand truckloads), ends up in U.S. landfills each year!

Knowing what Traci wanted out of a cat waste disposal system, she created her own DIY toilet litter bowl by gluing a bowl to the bottom of one of the cat toilet training platforms, cutting a small opening in the back of the bowl, and using flushable cat litter. Traci was thrilled to discover that her DIY toilet litter bowl worked apart from a few kinks. Her idea was on the road to reality!

Traci created a portable, space-saving and eco-friendly cat litter bowl, and soon realized that other cat owners who live in small living spaces would love this invention.



In the following year, Traci developed a CAD model and prototype, applied for a patent and trademark, drafted a business plan, and created a website, social media pages and product demo video. "We saw a niche and filled it," Thompson said. "And, we’ve used our Kitty LitterBowl prototype ever since we created it."





This cat waste disposal solution is uniquely constructed to sit on a conventional human toilet of any size, as well as on any flat surface. Kitty LitterBowl has a wide platform and enclosed basin for kitty comfort, and a tall perimeter wall that prevents spills from reaching the floor when cats dig. The simple waste disposal door in the basin provides cat owners with the ability to scoop waste directly into a toilet bowl for flushing without removing Kitty LitterBowl from the toilet, preventing lingering bad odor better than any cat litter box.

We need to bring awareness to cat owners about the downside of cat toilet training -- Cat toilet training is extremely time consuming and stressful, sometimes causes urinary-tract infections in cats, and often ends in failure.

Cat owners will love the insurance of kitty comfort through Kitty LitterBowl 's wide platform and enclosed basin design, as well as its unique disposal door that minimizes time spent on scooping and cleaning. Kitty LitterBowl is designed for cats and humans to utilize any given human toilet. When it’s time for a human to use the toilet, they simply move Kitty LitterBowl from the toilet to the floor temporarily.



Step 1

Place Kitty LitterBowl in your bathroom next to the toilet, cover the bottom with flushable litter and place your cat inside of Kitty LitterBowl so they can touch and smell the cat litter a few times. Remove all other litterboxes from your home and keep an eye on your kitty while they learn how to use the new apparatus.

Step 2

After your cat is comfortable with using Kitty LitterBowl on the floor in your bathroom (four to five days), move the unit to your toilet - Lift the toilet seat and lid and place Kitty LitterBowl directly on the toilet rim. Place your cat inside of Kitty LitterBowl on the toilet so they can touch and smell the cat litter a few times. BOOM...Your cat uses Kitty LitterBowl just like they use the litterbox today.

Step 3

When you have to use the toilet, scoop any cat waste from Kitty LitterBowl directly to the toilet bowl through the waste disposal door. Then use the adjacent handles on the Kitty LitterBowl to move it from the toilet to the floor, and then from the floor to the toilet when you're done. NOTE: Kitty LitterBowl is also functional on flat surfaces, so you can skip the scooping process when needed.

Our plan is more than feasible due to the many forces that are working against current cat waste disposal solutions. Forces such as space constraints in small living spaces, lingering bad odor caused by cat waste in litter boxes, unsuccessful attempts to toilet train cats, and environmental concerns all present cat owners with a feeling of dissatisfaction. By providing our product to the market place, it can alleviate these problems and render the cat litter box obsolete.
