ABOUT KIPP THROUGH COLLEGE
KIPP Through College (KTC) is part of the broader KIPP approach that helps to eliminate the opportunity gap between students from high-income and low-income communities.
The mission of KIPP Through College San Diego is to empower our alumni to utilize academic skills, intellectual habits and character traits to succeed in high school, college, and the competitive world beyond. The KTC team, therefore, works to support KIPP alumni as they pursue their dreams of higher education by providing high quality college access advising, programming, and college retention support.
All donated funds will be appropriated to a variety of fundraising efforts. Every dollar counts! Examples of our programming areas and initiatives include:
APPLICATION FEE WAIVER ASSISTANCE
We help offset some costs associated with applying to college which include: College Application Fees, SAT/ACT Score Submission Fees, & Placement Test Fees.
COLLEGE ROAD TRIP
College Road Trip is a free three-day, two-night trip to visit 6 different colleges/universities throughout Southern California.
COLLEGE APPLICATION BOOTCAMP
Our College Application Bootcamp is a free three-day, two-night program at SDSU. We provide rising seniors and community college students with the knowledge, resources, and skills to successfully apply to college and financial aid.
COLLEGE TRANSITION PROGRAM
Our To & Through College Transition Program is a free three-day, two-night program at the University of San Diego. We provide alumni graduating high school seniors and transfer students with the knowledge, resources, and skills to smoothly and successfully transition to their first year in college and persist to graduation.
CAREER SUMMIT
Career Summit is a Saturday workshop that provides alumni with the skills and confidence needed to secure a job or internship. The program agenda includes professional headshots, mock interviewing, resume writing, LinkedIn training, and career readiness activities. Alumni receive mentorship from professionals from different career fields.
