This is my sweetheart Kinley, she just turned 7 yrs old. She was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Histiocytic Sarcoma (an aggressive cancer) in her left shoulder and lymph nodes. What we initially thought 3 months ago was a persistent shoulder injury, turned out to be a nightmare. The pain is constant, medications aren’t helping and she no longer uses her left paw. In order to get to this diagnosis we have already charged $4,000 worth to cover the biopsies, CT scans, and specialty vet consultations.
She has had her left front leg and shoulder amputated today, which is estimated to cost $3,000 including her overnight stay in the vet ICU. We will have a follow up appointment with the surgeon and then we will be referred to an oncologist where will need to figure the cost of chemotherapy.
