Kindness in Motion Care for Kids
Hi, my name is Madi Tranquillo and I am a freshman at Northwestern Regional High School. Our school participates in Kindness in Motion projects each year and select students are awarded a $100 grant from our generous Superintendent, Dr. Palmer to help start up our individual kindness in motion project. This is my second year participating in this amazing project.
This year I chose to spread kindness to children that are in DCF care. I will be using my $100 grant as seed money to host a bake sale, pancake breakfast & a silent auction to raise money for the local DCF office.
Often times children are victims of family violence, neglect or some form of abuse and DCF investigates or meets with the children involved. I imagine this is a very scary experience for children of all ages. So, I would like raise funds to purchase comfort items and put them in a cool care package for the DCF workers to give to the children during these scary and rough times.
I have scheduled a pancake breakfast at the Torrington, CT Applebee’s restaurant on May 6, 2017 from 8am to 10am. The tickets are $8.00 and proceeds will be used 100% to make care packages for kids in DCF care.
I created this Go Fund Me page to allow those who cannot participate in the breakfast an easy way to make a donation to this important cause.
I am so thankful for any donation you are able to make. "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted" ~ Aesop
Sincerely,
Madi Tranquillo
