Kim Cheshier’s Car Accident Recovery

On the evening of October 27th, 2017, our friend/ coworker/ relative/ neighbor Kim Cheshier was in a terrible car accident on Interstate 80, north of Rocklin, CA. Due to an erratic driver drifting into her lane, she swerved to avoid getting hit, however lost control of her car & ran off the highway impacting a tree at high speeds! First responders didn’t think anyone could have survived, but Kim is as tough as they come! She suffered a broken vertebrae in her neck; 4 broken vertebrae in her middle back; a cracked sternum; cracked ribs; a broken left wrist, right foot & nose; received 25 staples in her stomach, and had emergency surgery to repair intestines.To top off the physical injuries, she’s continued to have a hard time sleeping because of the traumatic accident replaying constantly in her head. After spending 6 days stabilizing in ICU, she was moved to a regular room, and home shortly thereafter.Unfortunately, she has a long recovery ahead of her - estimates by the doctor of 8 weeks before she can mobilize again.Because of this, Kim has lost her car, her job, and her ability to work until she’s fully healed. Not only does she have her normal bills to pay, but now she adds the enormous medical expenses of her accident. Please donate in any way or amount you can; this fund will first and foremost go towards her overall comfort & stability - to pay any past due bills, for any medical services or medications she requires; for anything she may need to feel a little bit better.And ultimately, if we raise enough, we would like to find Kim another (safe) vehicle for once she has recovered!
