Help Kim and Sam BOTH beat cancer
Donation protected
My sister Kim and her wonderful husband Sam Weiss together have fought the cancer demons for years. Kim survived Lymphoma on her adrenal gland in 2011, after a full round of chemotherapy and all that goes with that. However, 3 years ago a new cancer, Primary Ocular Lymphomia, appeared in her eyes. After over two years of weekly, then bi-weekly, then monthly injections in her eyes, it went into remission.
Shortly after Christmas 2016 Sam was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and started chemo. The expectation is remission, as the cancer cannot be cured. Kim's cancer cells returned to her eyes shortly thereafter. In April she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. And, in early May doctors discovered her Lymphomia has moved into her brain and shows itself as tumors.
With their personal deductions each over $7,200, plus a high out-of-pocket, and Kim's inability to work, probably ever, they anticipate a very difficult financial situation. Every chemo session for Kim will include a several day stay in the hospital.
Sam has completed half of his chemo treatments, and courageously continues to work up to the day, and again right after all of them. Kim expects to undertake the most aggressive treatment available.
Knowing that they are being assisted with their finances will let both of them focus on their own healing as well as supporting each other in their long, hard journey.
