John’s Story:

We are raising money to help a dear friend living in Chesapeake VA, John Smith and his family. He is an astonishing 27year old that is a husband and an outstandingly devoted father to 2 little boys that are only 6years and 1years old. This man is someone who has served two tours in the Middle East and has sacrificed a great deal of his time protecting our country and now he needs our help. At the beginning of February 2017 John was diagnosed with a Meningioma which is a tumor those grows on the meninges of the brain. 97-99% of the time these tumors are benign. This tumor had grown to a size that created debilitating symptoms which meant he had to have it removed immediately. At the end of February 2017 he underwent a serious brain surgery to remove the tumor and when it was removed the doctor sent it off for more testing. Almost a week after the tumor removal him and his family were hit with devastating news. John is one of the unlucky victims that fell into the 1-3% of those who have a cancerous Meningioma. On Tuesday March 07, 2017 he was diagnosed with Sarcoma. This is a very rare and a very aggressive form of cancer to have especially in the brain.
Costs:
His doctors are working hard to create the best treatment plans but they are also very costly. Regrettably the company John works for now does not offer any type of disability benefits. The insurance he has is unfortunately only covering a small portion of the medical bills he is rapidly accruing with the surgeries, office visits, medications, physical therapy and other treatments he is receiving to beat this.
How You Can Help:
John is unable to work do to the substantial side effects of the surgery and medical treatments he is and will be going through. His wife Sarah is a stay at home mom that is unable to work because she is devoting all of her time to taking care of John since he needs around the clock assistance. So if you could please dig deep into your heart and donate whatever you can to help this family beat John’s cancer and to relieve his worries of the financial burdens they have become faced with would be a tremendous help and greatly appreciated.
