Be Bold!  Be Fearless! Face the Challenge! Make a Difference!

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. Yet its snow-capped summit is also the silent witness to one of the highest maternal and fetal death rates worldwide.

The Fetal Health Initiative Challenge 2019 is a fundraising event benefiting the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center to support the development of maternal and fetal medicine. This hospital is located in the immediate vicinity of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It opened in March 1971 and supplies more than 15 million people in northern Tanzania. It also participates in the education of about 1800 medical and nursing students.

10 healthcare professionals from 7 different countries have come together for a true test of physical and mental strength by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on an 8-day challenge from 20. - 28. September 2019.

Prior to the climb, the challenge members are donating their time and expertise for a 6-day onsite education course on Medical Obstetric Practices and Health Care Management at the Killimanjaro Medical Center.

In addition, the goal is for the team to raise 1 Euro for every altitude meter climbed, for a total of 5,895 Euros as a donation to the hospital and to raise awareness for the Fetal Health Initiative amongst their respective communities worldwide.

Help us achieve our goal by making your contribution today!

Whether it's making a bet on a team member reaching the summit, helping a good cause, getting a tax deduction, or supporting your friend or family member...

Even just a contribution of 1 Euro motivates us to put one foot in front of the other to get up the mountain and supports the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center to lower maternal and fetal death rates in Tanzania.

Donations will remain open until 10. September 2019.

Here are a few other ways you can support us:
    -  Share the initiative with your friends, family, and coworkers
    -  Donate medical or mountaineering equipment
    -  Suggest or engage potential sponsors
