Kids Community Closet
The families of these children are not always able to provide the clothing, school supplies and personal care items that the children need. Issues arise when a child has an in-school accident, when a child's only jersey is soiled early in the week and the parent cannot get to a laundromat until the weekend, when the child outgrows the pants and shirt purchased for the first day of school and there is no money to buy the child a new one. The situations are real, and the ability of the school to meet these needs because of the Kids Community Closet keeps children in school and focused on learning.
Closets are stocked the with new pants/shorts, collared jerseys, underwear and socks to meet the schools uniform standards. Clothing is distributed discreetly, as needed, by school personnel. School supplies are also provided, especially back packs, and personal care items.
All donations raised during this campaign will go to purchase much needed items for these children.
"When students that don't have the basic essentials/uniforms are given what they need it is instrumental in their well being and success in the school setting. Instantly, you can see their self-esteem and self confidence increase! I wish you could see the smiling faces and receive the enthusiastic hugs, from both students and parents when they receive the items you (NCJW) provide. You have helped us set these students up for success. We are all extremely grateful."
