Kidney & Liver Transplant Needed ASAP

My dear friend's daughter, Krista, is going on the transplant registry for a liver and kidneys at the age of 22. Prior to September 18th, Krista was living a vibrant life - selling real estate, teaching ice skating, acting in local theater and serving in her church and community in Minden, Louisiana. She is now in a fight to preserve her life. Please help us take some of the financial burden off this family. Krista, you are so very loved!!!
The medical estimate for the 2 transplants is $1 million dollars of which insurance will cover 80%. So $200,000 will be needed to cover the medical bills and the additional $25,000 is for living expenses in New Orleans and to keep up house payments on her home in Minden, Louisiana (6 hours from New Orleans).
Timeline/Background:
On September 18th, Krista was running a high fever. Upon visiting the doctor, she assumed she had a UTI and would get her meds and be sent home. Instead, she was admitted to the hospital where lab work, further testing and biopsies showed dangerously low platelets, an enlarged spleen and severely diseased kidneys and liver.
She was referred to Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans where they have been testing and preparing to fast-track her for a liver and kidney transplant.
Krista's rapid decline and serious diagnosis has not only been overwhelming for Krista, but for her family and her community. Krista lives with her widowed mother (her husband, Scott, passed away from brain cancer in 2011) and three younger sisters, Sarah (20), Abigail (17) and Elizabeth (14 who has autism).
To be placed on the transplant list, Krista, her mom and two younger sisters will need to relocate to New Orleans for 3-6 months as soon as she is approved for the transplants and remain there as she adjusts to the new organs and medications. Krista's family will no longer have an income (Linda is a realtor) and financial difficulties already exist from recent hospital stays, travel costs and added medications.
