Jason (Wally) was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in September 2015. Jason underwent bowel reconstructive surgery and chemotherapy and was deemed cancer free September 2016. One year later, in September 2017 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic colon cancer and immediately started treatment. This time, Jason completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy over six months and in June 2018, he underwent a 12 hour surgery at Vancouver General Hospital known as Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) surgery to remove the cancer that had metastasized to over 8 organs spreading from his diaghram to his rectum. The surgery was invasive, but most importantly, it was successful as Jason is now for the second time, cancer free. He is expected to have a full and healthy recovery. Jason spent 17 days in the hospital and now needs 3 - 4 months recovery at home with full time nursing support. Over the last 3 years Jason has only been
able to work a total of 22 months due to the chemo treatments and the side effects that come with it. Since the surgery, Jason is now unable to work and must rest and heal during the next few months. It has been difficult financially especially since Jason’s long term disability claim was declined, leaving him without any means of income for many months.

Anyone that knows Jason knows his love for life. Through this process he continues to make everyone laugh and remains so strong. It’s been a tough road and if we can take one stress away from him so he can focus on his health he would be more than appreciative.

Jason is struggling with the concept of having to ask for help but with the support of his family and friends we decided to start a fundraiser to help alleviate some of the financial strains that have occurred during his fight.

Any money donated, will be used for the offset of months of lost income, mounting bills, hospital expenses, prescriptions, ongoing medical care, and much more.

Any amount you are able to donate would mean the world to Jason and we can't thank you enough for your generosity.
