Having been accepted into the prestigious Umeå University (https://www.umu.se/en/), Kevaughn needs to raise $8,000 to pay towards his tuition fees on or before June 5, to secure his place in the Master of Science in Molecular Biology program. We need your help to ensure he travels from Jamaica to take advantage of this opportunity.
Meet Kevaughn Prout, my friend who attended the same high school in Jamaica, though at different times, but we share common passion for playing the flute and I support his other passion for the sciences. Kevaughn needs your help on his continuing quest to reach his academic goals.

Hi everyone! I am Kevaughn Prout, a final year Biotechnology student at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus. I was recently accepted to Umea University (UMU) in Umea, Sweden to read for a Master of Science in Molecular Biology for the next two (2) years beginning in September of this year. UMU is renowned for its comprehensive educational approach and creative learning environments, including its large main campus and contemporary Arts Campus by the riverside. The university is also characterized by its openness and approachability.
The selection process for the program was quite involved, and I am very proud to have been accepted to this program of study. This acceptance was based on strong overall academic standing, excellent appraisals from my current lecturers, and my extra-curricular involvement. I have been a Rotaract member for several years and President of the UWI Mona Club for the past year which has allowed me to be of service to others. Along the way I have also followed my other passion for playing the flute, which I hope to continue practicing while in Sweden.
The total tuition cost is $30,000 for which I am hoping to secure scholarships to assist. However, I have a deadline of June 5 to make the first payment of approximately 8,000USD for which I am seeking your assistance. This payment will cover the first installation of tuition fees and insurance costs which is necessary to commence processing of visas. Should this deadline be missed, I risk losing this life-changing opportunity. I am making use of all the resources available to me to make this trip a possibility, but I am also seeking sponsorships to help offset any expenses it can. All donations are welcomed, and I thank you in advance for helping me make this opportunity become a reality.
