Kerrie Murphy Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Kerrie Sumner Murphy is an incredible educator, artist, activist, and mom. On Saturday November 17th, Kerrie went into a coma while visiting friends in Olympia, WA. She was rushed to St. Peters Providence Hospital where doctors found it hard to diagnose her condition, but now feel confident that Kerrie suffered a stroke in her sleep.

Over the past week and a half, she has had some lucid moments, but struggles with basic motor skills and appears to have some memory loss. Doctors are still performing tests and are unsure of what will be permanent and what can be improved with occupational and physical therapy. The best recovery outcome could take up to a year of in-home care.

Unfortunately, the home that Kerrie shares with her husband, Thomas W. Murphy, and two adorable cats, is not accessible for someone in her condition. Kerrie's family have already begun to prepare for renovations to their unfinished basement, so that Kerrie may have a new room that is accessible from the ground floor and designed to meet her new needs.

Many have asked how they can help our family during this time. If you are financially able to give even a small amount, it will help to take some of the burden off of Kerrie and her family during this difficult time. Funds raised will also go towards the unexpected medical costs that Kerrie's insurance does not cover.

Thank you so much and we appreciate any form of support.
