Help Street Children in Kenya

Hello everyone, my name is Nefeli and I'm raising money to offer counselling services to the street children in the Dagoretti rehabilitation centre in Kenya. The centre is called "Child in Need " and is operated by Amref Health Africa.
The "Child in Need" centre focuses on children from the Dagoretti slum, aged from 5 to 20 years old, who have ended up without a place to call home. These children have come from abusive households that forced them to leave their families, while others have been outright abandoned by their parents. In other cases, their parents have passed away due to HIV/AIDS. Unfortunately, kids growing up under such harsh conditions are often lured into drugs and prostitution.
The Dagoretti rehabilitation centre provides these children with the opportunity to either return to school and educate themselves, or develop certain skills that would allow them to earn money (e.g. knitting, music, drama etc.) and support themselves. During my time there as a volunteer, I witnessed first-hand the centre's enormous contribution to the Dagoretti society. Nevertheless, I found that professional counselling
was indeed missing, something that is essential in order to prevent mental breakdowns occurring. More often than not, children that experience such psychological collapses tend to return to the streets and engage in illegal activities. The aim of my campaign is to provide to the children regular therapy, in the hopes of increasing their chances for a safe and happy life.
You could have a tremendous impact on those children. Your help is needed, now more than ever, to provide for these kids professional guidance on a regular basis. With £2,000 the centre will be able to offer up to 100 group counseling sessions for approximately 200 children including motivational speaches from former beneficiaries. With every £20 donated, an additional counselling session is offered to the children! All of the money donated will be solely used to support this project.
In order to initiate the program for the new season, we need to raise enough money by March 31st. Help us make this dream a reality. Let's unite to help those kids and see more happy faces in this world!
