Help Kenny Kick Cancer

Donation protected
On March 28th, a couple weeks before his 27th birthday, Kenny (Peter Kenneth) received news that he had a tumor in his brain after experiencing some memory loss and other changes in his personality that were noted by his girlfriend Katie, family, and close friends. After the sudden news, on March 30th, he had brain surgery. The doctors tried to remove the tumor, but found that it was safer to just biopsy it and use chemo or radiation to remove the tumor safely. After the biopsy, the tumor was found to be malignant.

Kenny’s cancer is extremely rare and usually found in children. It is known as a primary germinoma of the pineal gland, which occurred before he was born when a group of cells did not migrate properly. In other words, this is a testicular cancer that is located in his brain which makes it hard to completely explain to people. This particular type of cancer travels through the fluids in the body and usually people have more than one tumor. Luckily, after many tests and scans Kenny only has it in one area of his body!

A week after surgery, Kenny was home sleeping when his girlfriend Katie woke up to him having a seizure. His seizure was caused by the production of too much fluid and his sodium levels dropped drastically. He was unresponsive for about 2 days. Thankfully, he has made a nice recovery from his seizure. Kenny was sent to rehab after this to build his strength, but most importantly to work on his cognitive skills and establish a routine so he will be more independent when he gets home. Since his cancer is so rare, the doctors do not have a strict regime to follow. Kenny started chemo on Tuesday, April 18th, and the first round ran until April 20th. After this initial round, the doctors will run tests to determine if it is working. They will then decide whether they need to zap it with radiation as well, or use a different kind of chemotherapy.

With the ongoing treatments and the short term memory loss, the doctors have instructed Kenny to file for long-term disability. In 8 months he could be considered to go back to work, but could be much longer. We are all praying that one day, Kenny will be able to get back to work as a flight attendant and explore more of this world. The doctors rarely see this type of cancer and are VERY optimistic that Kenny will do just great after his treatments since he is young, healthy, and incredibly strong. It will definitely be a long road to recovery, but so far his spirits are high! He has never lost his smile through this entire process.

Please consider donating to help Kenny fight cancer & keep him in your prayers please. All donations would be to help cover medical expenses and help compensate for his bills while he is on leave from work.Thank you in advance! No donation is too small. ☺Please share with anyone!
