Hey Guys!
As many of you probably know, I am a current junior at Berry College in Rome, GA, and I am studying vocal performance with a concentration in Musical Theatre. Since I was 13 years old I knew that I desperately wanted to perform but it has taken me seven years to build up the courage to even tell people that that was my dream. After graduation (in just 2 semesters...AAAHHH!) I hope to continue to study musical theatre and one day, you will hopefully get the chance to see me perform on a Broadway stage!
A big part of building up that theatre resumé of mine is participating in as many programs and opportunities as possible, and I just found out that I have been offered a HUGE opportunity.
I have been accepted into Performing Arts Abroad West End Musical Theatre Training experience which takes place in London during Summer 2019! I am so beyond excited and honored to be able to participate in this AMAZING program. Only between 15-20 students are selected from the US each year, so to be picked for this opportunity is truly amazing.
This program is really unique in that the instructors I will be learning from are working actors and actresses from London's West End (The British version of Broadway). I will get the chance to work with actors and actresses that are currently performing in shows like Les Miserables, The Lion King, Wicked and many many others. On top of that, I will also get the chance to work with and audition for top casting directors and talent agents from the UK. This is so HUGE. To even imagine that I have this opportunity is beyond description, but I am in need of some help.
I am needing some help with raising some funds for this trip. I am a full time student that is consistently performing in concerts and shows with our Music, Theatre and Dance departments. I work three jobs on campus and I am an active member of honor societies and scholarship programs on campus. The trip doesn't take place until next summer, but I do have to start making payments as early as this week. That's where you come in.
Would you please consider helping me achieve this goal? Studying abroad makes such a huge impact in education, but as a student, it is not easy trying to raise the necessary funds. On top of that, there aren't opportunities for summer time study abroad scholarships within the arts at Berry. So I'm on my own.
The goal is broken up into three main sections. The cost of the program that I have to pay to PAA, the cost of the airplane ticket I have to buy for myself, and also the cost to live while I am over there for the three week intensive program.
If you would kindly make a donation, it would mean the world to me. Just, the world. No donation is too small (or too large ;-) and every little bit helps. In return, you will receive a very kind handwritten thank you note from me at the earliest possible time. Also, as a part of my major, I am preparing a junior recital for the spring. I am hoping to bring my recital to the Covington/McDonough area next spring so that you can see for yourself how much your donation would impact me.
