One little surf shop, attached to one little cafe. We have an opportunity to change the culture of Biarritz. We have the opportunity to influence surfing in our own waters, and waters rarely touched by surfers.
How, you may ask?
Well we have this vision. One that goes beyond what a typical surf shop would have. Our desire is to go beyond selling the latest and trendiest things. Our aim is to provide a place people feel relaxed, heard, and valued. A place where people can be stoked about surfing and enjoy a good cup of jo.
How are we going to do that? To put it simply, by choosing excellence. We believe each person who walks through our doors are worth us being excellent in every area. That means we’ll continue to provide the best coffee anyone can get in this city, brewed by people who care about and love coffee.
It means that we are choosing to source and sell high-quality, locally-made surfboards in our surf shop, and support small, less-known businesses with impeccably-crafted boards and apparel from surfing capitals of the world.
It means we’re setting up a place for conversation and creativity. Where dreams are supported and given a platform. Our hope is to bring the community together so they have a platform to create.
It means that we’ll be traveling once a year to developing nations, seeing how we can get involved and support their local surf culture, and create opportunities for them.
Ultimately, this project is to create opportunities for others, to bridge cultural barriers, and to support our community.
We’re fundraising €80,000 to see our dream of Kennedy Surf Shop & Cafe become reality. This will cover everything we need from renovations to stocking shelves, to having the best equipment possible.
We’d be honored and grateful for your support and investment to see our goal met. We believe our city will be impacted, our surf culture will shift, and our cafe will become a destination, based on the standard of excellence and relationship we’re committed to providing.
