Keltin's Childhood Cancer Crusade

$14,115 of $50,000 goal

Created September 23, 2017
A mass was found on Keltin's lower back November 2016 when he was 8 months old. After multiple scans, it was confirmed that the mass was a tumor and had spread through his body.

At 9 months old, Keltin was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Chemotherapy was started immediately. After months of treatments, scans showed that the chemo treatments were working.

In June 2017, Keltin had surgery to remove the tumor.
Tests showed all the tumor had been removed. After recovering from surgery Keltin then continued with his chemotherapy.

After a routine scan in September 2017, it was found that cancer had returned. Keltin's doctors have now reached out to multiple children's cancer specialists around the country for advice on how to continue with Keltin's treatment.

As of now, the plan is to start a new chemotherapy and proton radiation. This proton radiation is not offered in South Carolina so Keltin will have to travel to Philadelphia to receive this special radiation. Keltin will receive chemotherapy and radiation in Philadelphia for 2 months. When radiation is complete he'll return home to complete chemo treatments and plan for surgery.

In this unfortunate phase of fighting for Keltin, we are reaching out for any help we can give the family. We appreciate any amount you are able to donate in helping our little warrior in his battle against cancer. Please keep him in your prayers and help us spread the word.

Keltin's family would also like to share that any money not used will be donated to the Greenville Children's Hospital.

From The Bennett Family :
"We have a tradition of taking individual and family photos the night before our kids birthdays. Tonight we didn’t get to do that with my Sweet Keltin. We did take a photo of all the gifts we are taking to the children’s hospital tomorrow for all the kids fighting for their lives. I’m not posting to get any kind of recognition. I’m posting because these gifts were bought with the money that has been donated to Keltin through his GoFundMe from his family and friends that loved him so much. So I’m posting because I want to recognize YOU, the people that unselfishly gave to my son. You are now giving to other kids like Keltin who are still fighting. We have given to so many other organizations and plan to continue as well as continue this new tradition of going to the hospital every year on Keltin’s Birthday. A random day for these kids but a special day to us will now become a special day for them as well. There was a 2-year-old boy on the list. So, of course, we got him Keltin’s favorite things."

The family would also like me to share that in addition to the toys purchased they also donated money to The Children's Miracle Network, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for Children, and The Greenville Children's Hospital so far. They plan on continuing to donate in Keltin's memory. #KeltinWasOnly1 #KB #KeltinBennett #MySweet #MyHero

From Ingrid Henderson ~
My dear family and friends. It’s with a heavy heart that I inform you that My grandson Keltin has fallen asleep in death. As you could imagine this has been a tough emotional battle for the family as well as my grandson Keltin. He was a trooper through all this. We will never know completely the pain he went through, but even in his last days, he was able to give us not only hope but what made him special, a smile through the pain.
There is no way to describe what my daughter, Josh, and the kids have been through, but you can imagine this will be a long time for things to seem normal again.
We are thankful Keltin was able to fall asleep in death at home and around his family who loved him dearly. I’m also thankful that I had the God-given strength and experience from my career to care for my grandson personally in his final hours as his hospice nurse. Although I don’t wish that upon anyone, I know now I would have wanted it no other way. I want to thank you all for your love, support, text messages, phone calls, and prayers. I love you all, and please continue to pray for us because we have a long road ahead in the healing process. Love to you all, and hug someone and be thankful, we never know what tomorrow will bring.
