Kelowna Peewee Tier 1 Rockets Journey to Quebec

Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends & Hockey Supporters,

Our team received some very exciting news last week! We have been invited to the largest International Peewee hockey tournament in the world! This tournament sees the best 120 teams from around the globe compete in Quebec City Feb 13-24, 2019. Our little Kelowna team is one of only two teams asked to attend from British Columbia.

This team consists of eleven and twelve year-old boys playing a high level of hockey. There are some incredibly talented kids who come from a wide range of families and socio-economic status.

Head Coach Byron Ritchie, former NHL player and participant in this Quebec tournament as a child, has instilled an environment of respect, discipline and teamwork with all of these young men.

The boys will bring all of these attributes to Quebec as they interact with peers from around the world, creating new friendships and inspiring one another to be the best they can be. They will learn about other cultures and create memories to last a lifetime!

The team has begun an extensive fundraising plan with hopes to help offset costs so all seventeen boys can attend as a team and represent Kelowna Minor Hockey and the province of British Columbia.  The $17,000 ($1000 x 17 players) we are seeking to raise by February 10th will be used to cover player's travel costs.

Your support is very much appreciated!

In keeping with our team's spirit of giving back to the community, we are teaming up with the Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs and donating a portion of our proceeds from our fundraising campaign to this terrific local charity.

"Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are so excited to be a partial recipient of the funds raised through the GoFundMe Campaign of the Kelowna Minor Hockey Peewee Tier 1 Rockets team. Not all children have the chance to participate in hockey and other organized sports and the contributions made will ensure children attending programs at the Boys and Girls Clubs have a chance to learn the basic skills of a variety of sport and physical activities so they can grow to be healthy adults in our community."
