Kelly Dorsey NuEyes Glasses

Hello, My name is Kelly Dorsey and I am visually impared.

I was born with a rare condition called Bardet-Biedl Syndrom that has caused my retinas to degenerate and has left me legally blind. I see my world as a blur and makes each day a challenge. I want to be able to see my 3 year old daughter and watch her grow and play. I want to be able to read to her and help her with her homework as she gets older. I want to be able to look into my husbands eyes and see him clearly as I tell him how much I love him and appreciate him. I want so badly to go to college and become a disablity councelor so I can help others that struggle each day. I dream of a better life for myself and for my family and with NuEyes my dream can become a clear reality.

For those of you who are familiar with my story, my journey to improved vision first started off with a wonderful product called ESight.  I heard great things about the product and even met to see if it would work for me and my vision impairment.  Fortunately it worked wonders and was able to see faces and photos I have not been able to see in many years.  Over my time of fund raising for this wonderful technology I was informed by the Chicago Lighthouse organization of a similar product called NuEyes.  NuEyes is another brand of electronic glasses that utilizes military inspired science to help those who are visually impaired.  On Thursday October 20, 2016 I met with the company and was blown away at how much more these were able to help me see.  Not only do these glasses help me see clearer but they are also equipped with audio assistance.  NuEyes has the ability to snap an image of text and relay the information into an attached earpiece.    

NuEyes is  referred as "smart glasses" because it uses software similar to that in smart phones.  This will allow regular updates to the software as the technology continues to advance.  It is hands free, portable, and gave me almost perfect vision. With NuEyes I can regain my independance, I can help my husband more, I can see all the milestones my daughter has yet to experience, I can go to school and I can have a career!
