Rent for Ke Kontan Children's Home
Donation protected
Maison Ke Kontan is currently "home" to 20 children from ages 10 months to 17 years who have been orphaned, abandoned, abused, or neglected. We also have numerous children from the surrounding neighbourhood that join us for meals, soccer games, and free English class. We also support children & families outside of the home, paying their education costs, paying medical expenses, and assisting them with basic necessities. Most of our children have experienced extreme trauma and we believe it is our job to provide them with not only the love and care that they deserve.. but also opportunity for a promising future.
Each year we are faced with the challenge of providing basic necessities such as food, clothing, education, and medical care to our children, but also providing them with a safe haven where they can thrive and continue to grow...a place that they can call "home". On March 28th, 2016 we will have to pay the remaining half of our annual rent which amounts to $6000 USD ($8123 CAN). Although we do endless fundraising and have child sponsorship, this is a hard goal for us to meet, especially with the US dollar being so high. We have been told that if we do not meet our goal by the given deadline, we will be evicted.
Our Children's Home is not funded by the government, but funded independently. This means that our home has no permanent funding and relies entirely on well-wishers for all expenses. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child, and this could not be more true. We could not keep doing what we are doing without people like YOU! Please help us keep a safe and loving environment for our children! Every dollar helps!
