New insulin pump for Cindy

We are establishing a Go Fund Me to help Cindy Hooper-Deleon purchase a much needed MiniMed 670G insulin pump, which is not covered by her insurance at this time. The cost of the pump is $3,100.

This new meter and sensor system would be greatly beneficial to Cindy, for more than one reason. She has recently had several episodes of dangerously low blood sugar (50s) during the night. The new pump, which monitors and addresses blood sugar every five minutes, would remedy that. The other reason that the new pump is necessary has to do with dialysis. For the last year, hemodialysis has been challenging due to profound low blood pressures, resulting in multiple hospitalizations. Due to blood pressure instability, peritoneal dialysis would be a much better option for Cindy at this time. Because peritoneal dialysis uses a glucose based formula, and Cindy has brittle diabetes, the new pump will be greatly beneficial in maintaining a safe blood sugar level.
