Texas is hitting triple digit weather and the Garland shelter has busted portable air conditioning units and old broken industrial fans. One dog has already suffered death as a result of the heat. Diseases will spread as the heat increases, dogs will lay in direct sunlight with no air flow or in an old kennel with stagnent hot air around them. They will slowly drift in and out of consciousness while heat stroke sets in and they are unable to stand due to the Texas heat and inadequate conditions they are in.

The Addison to Colony subgroup of the Texas Rescue Forum Facebook page is raising funds to get the Garland, TX animal shelter new wall mount fans and updated portable air conditioning units.
Their current units are 20+ years old, leaking, broken, outdated and inadequate.
They need 4 portable air units that start at approx $2,000 each. They need 7 new wall mounted fans to replace the old and can run 24/7 without risk of electrical fire or just breaking. Those start at $149 each.
This fundraiser is to get the money and buy those items for those animals. We will not be handing money to the shelter, we will be buying everything with the donated money and ensure it is installed. We will be coordinating with them, and have already begun that process weeks ago, to ensure their cooperation in this. The common goal right now is to stop the animals there from dying of even more heat related illnesses and suffering slowly.
If funds allow, we will be buying additional items the shelter confirms they need or coordinate with other groups to buy together.

It is time to put money where our mouth is and make a change now that will benefit the Garland shelter dogs before it is too late.
