Keep Forrest running across America

Hi guys, my name is Robert. Robert Pope. One day, for two very good reasons, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road, and when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. I figured since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did I ran clear across Alabama. For those two particular reasons, I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. When I got there, I figured since I'd gone this far, I might as well
turn around, just keep on going.
2,230 miles later I stand on Santa Monica Pier, looking east. I am the first person to try and complete the run that Forrest Gump did in the film and I'm still going!
My two "particular reasons" are the World Wildlife Fund and Peace Direct. We are running to help double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022 and to bring peace and stability to communities across the world. I funded the first leg of the run myself, using my life savings to buy an old RV and to fuel this and myself to reach the ocean. Unfortunately these will run out very soon. If I can complete all 5 crossings (15,248 miles!) in the next year and a bit, I expect to raise over a MILLION dollars, but to do that I have to get there and this is where I need your help. Any money raised over the amount needed will go directly to the charities. I have a website (www.goingthedistancerun.com) where you can follow my progress and blog and all my social media can be accessed from there too. I am happy to produce specific content on request (Good luck messages, happy birthdays, anniversaries, photos and I'll even wear supplied shirts/crazy costumes if you can get them to me) or even do public appearances/speaking en route.
