Keemy's Memorial

Dear Friends, Family and Anyone who so happens upon this page,

It is with a heavy heart and tremendous sadness that this page is being created on behalf of our son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Hakeem Atofau-Barber, who passed on January 9th, 2019.  Hakeem, or "Keem" to his male family and friends and "Keemy" to his female family and friends.

On that day, a great sadness and void entered the life of all those who knew Keem.  Hakeem lost his life to something that we the family, are not ready to share as it is very personal to us.  Hakeem was the young age of 26.

For all who knew Keem there was no doubt that he was a kind, loving and warm hearted kindred spirit.  As we, his family and friends, mourn his loss and attempt to navigate through this trying time we have been contemplating and sharing his story not only as a way to begin the healing process, but to also remember what kind of person Hakeem was.

Hakeem is remembered by those who loved him as an individual of genuine character, sarcastic but loving sense of humor and a truely careing personality.  Hakeem absolutely loved his family, who were the most important aspect of his life and something he openly talked about often.

We, his family, are now in the unfortunate process of planning his memorial service.  No one ever wants to bury anyone they love and the financial burden that comes with such a task adds to the trauma of an already tragic situation.

We now open this page as a way for anyone who would like to assist by making a monetary donation to help offset this unexpected financial burden.  We, his family, would like to thank everyone in advance for any gift they provide, no matter how little.  Since Hakeem's death, we have received a tremendous outpouring of support and thank everyone for all of their thoughts and prayers.

Hakeem was genuinely all around amazing and wonderful human being and was absolutely loved by all who knew him.  We would like to honor his memory by sending him off into eternity with a proper and memorable service.

We thank you once again and may God bless you all the days of your life.

Respectfully,
The Atofau Family
