Young musician and mother in need

Elizabeth Kee and her son Zachary (15) of Houston are mourning the death of her husband and Zach's dad, who passed away in late summer of this year just before school started. Mr. Kee fought liver failure for the past year but eventually succumbed. During that time, Elizabeth was unable to work full time while caring for her husband. When he died, there was no life insurance policy to assist the family.

In mid-September, Elizabeth was admitted to the hospital unexpectedly and had to have heart surgery. She has had a second trip to the hospital since the surgery and is now home (Oct 1). This family is under incredible emotional, physical and financial stress. They currently have no regular income.

Zachary is in his second year as a violist in the orchestra at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (pictured above) and is doing his best to stay focused and work hard in his music and academic courses while dealing with many difficult issues.

Please consider a donation to help the Kees with some very real financial needs, like groceries, bills and school expenses. This campaign is being organized privately by Brad Smith and is not associated with or sponsored by HSPVA or HISD.
