Khampanh Baccam's transplant

Donation protected

About a year and a half ago, on April 24th 2015, I remember to rushing my father to ER for his extremely horrifying back pain and was not able to walk on his own then he was in and out from the hospital from that point on. Finally the Doctors was diagnosed him with multiple Myeloma stage3 cancer in early May 2015. My family was in shock and from there, we knew we must stay focused. His 1st session of chemo therapy was twice a week on going for 8 months, but his disease was just stable with the Velcade chemo injection. Then the 2nd session the Doctor renewed the regimen to another chemo med called kypolis, during those 3 month he was on Kypolis, the Doctor wanted to add the 3rd chemo med call Relimid, but insurance coverage was denied him for Relimid chemo. Since being diagnosed, work was out of the question. We then loss a major income. Loss of income combined with costly chemotherapy sessions twice a week, and endless prescribed medications became a hurdle we had to over come.

Of course we feel hopeless, frustrated for his denied on getting helps that he needed, my father is hard working, very open minded, very caring person, very active person prior to his illness, our fears and hopeless to see him walk with cane and walker. But my father ‘s oncology doctor did not stop there they continue to fight with pharmaceutical company to get my father on the Relivmid this is the only chemo meds will help him fight this type of cancer and finally the pharmaceutical company did approve…. months later with some help. The local oncology and Moffitt cancer center doctors has been work together during those 4 months my father was on Relivmid. Thankfully he has reached the remission stage that will allow my father to move forward with the stem cell transplant at Moffitt cancer. Though we’ve perservered through it all with a strong smile on our face. After endless research done by the Moffit Cancer center they’ve come up with a plan to kick myeloma’s ass! August 17 2016, what we’ve been waiting for is finally here, we will be going through with a blood and bone marrow transplant.

During the procedure my father and my mother will be required to stay at the near by lodging during his recovering.

As the days, months goes by countless on behind bills payment due to income reduction from my father job lose. My mother stretches her pay check to cover the minimum payment on all bills, but it has been very difficult for her. We’ve decided to put our pride aside, and ask for help. The transplant procedure is over 100k. Any donation will help and is greatly appreciated. For any update and information feel free to Facebook either one of us @ Sammie Baccam  or Jbobo Baccam .
