Hello friends, family, co-workers and everyone else who is reading this page! I have been called crazy, illogical and sometimes even foolish for undertaking rides of obnoxious distances. Over the past few years I've been bitten again and again by the ultra-endurance cycling bug. I've ridden around Lake Michigan (four times now), and this past summer I cycled solo and unsupported from Illinois to Oregon in just over 35 days. The time in the saddle made me realize my potential, and I know I can be a legitimate contender in the TransAm Bike Race.
What is this race, and why is it a big deal?
When it comes to the numbers, mileage and elevation, it nearly doubles that of the Tour De France. Riding coast to coast from Oregon to Virginia, I will be covering more than 4,200 miles. When not attending classes or delivering pizzas part-time, I'm busy training. However, preparation for a race of this calliber takes more than determination, dedication and preperation - it requires strong financial backing. That is why I'm turning to you, to help this dream become a reality. Funds raised will contribute to outfitting my bike, as well as providing the incredible amount of sustenance that my body will require to deliver the energy needed.
