The word biopsy puts the fear of death in you.
Sleepless nights, constant dread and fear of leaving your children so early.
Questions and things to sort out; a will, an insurance policy, paperwork of my worldly goods, mortgage and bills, what about my job,what and when do I tell the kids and my parents?
In between the tears I have never been so grateful of my life for the past few weeks and how much my children, family and friends mean to me.
Four long, long weeks of hospital appointments and waiting, finally the results.... it's benign, all clear.
Two magic words- 'all clear' - I am one of the lucky ones.

There is not a single person that I talk to today that doesn't know someone who is suffering with a problem, or, is a victim and suffering themselves; Alzheimer's, dementia, alcoholism, drug addiction and other mental health problems are just a few affecting my immediate family and friends.
There is no 'norm' on dealing with mental health; how, when and what to say. So we keep it behind closed doors, sweep it under the rug and suffer in silence, every single moment of every day.
Enough is enough, lets talk, share and get some help for these people, but how? We are not professional counselors and often our advice may not be appropriate and sound.
So, for my bit, I have decided to raise money, for both cancer and mental health charities by cutting my hair. My hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to make a wig, once I have grown it past the minimum requirements!
This is something that I was going to do for my 60th birthday, but as time is not a given I have decided not to wait.
So please, donate whatever you can and I will update you with the specific charities that the funds will be going to.
