Organ Rejection Fund Raiser

Donation protected
Two years and three weeks ago, I was gifted with a donor liver when my own was failing.

Yesterday, I had to come back down to Rochester for inpatient treatment in the hospital for organ rejection. The doctors estimate I will be here for about a week, getting a medication called Thymoglobulin, which basically shuts down my entire immune system and lets it re-boot on it's own. The idea is that during the time my immune system is down, my liver can heal back up without being attacked and it will be strong enough to work properly as is has been the last two years with the daily immuno-suppression medications I take.

Two weeks ago, I had to be here in Rochester at Mayo for testing and outpatient treatment of the organ rejection, but the treatment of IV steroids was not strong enough to wipe out the organ rejection.
We are praying that this heavier and more intense round of treatment will take care of the organ rejection and my liver and I can start feeling better and gaining back energy and health.

I am so grateful for my employer working with me to allow me to come down and have treatments without worry of losing my job, but I've only worked there since September, and do not have any PTO built up yet, as will be missing at least another week of work.

Myself and Jacob are so blessed to have so many family and friends that have supported us emotionally, mentally, physically and financially, and we are ever appreciative of anything our friends and loved ones can help with.  Any money raised will help us with medical bills and hotel and travel expenses while we are staying here in Rochester until my doctors clear me to go home.

Thank you, God bless, and Happy Thanksgiving.

As I am every day, I am thankful for my liver donor and their families decision to donate. I am thankful for Jacob, our siblings and niblings, and our parents, friends and extended family who have been so amazing and supportive these last two years.

We wish you and your families health, happiness and love.
