Katie Blancato Kidney Fund

Hello, as many of you know my friend Katie Blancato is currently awaiting a kidney and pancreas transplant.  She is 29 years old and has been a type 1 diabetic since the age of 8.  She is in stage 4 kidney failure due to a lifelong of diabetes. Four years ago she was diagnosed with end stage renal failure and has continued to fight the disease since. Katie is managing her diabetes with an insulin pump trying to avoid dialysis as a transplant is her best option for a healthy life. She has been placed on the kidney transplant list at AGH and now it is a waiting game. Living donors are being tested,however it could take up to 4-5 years for Katie to receive a kidney from the waiting list.  I am doing this in hopes that we can raise enough money for Katie to get through her transplant and recovery with very little financial stress.  We are raising money to take care of any medical expenses she will have throughout this whole process and to make sure she can focus on getting better so she can return to work.
