Katie and Jon Skillman Fund

2 months, 2 life changing events. On November 9th 2018, Katie gave birth to baby Jameson 7 weeks early while in Florida for a family wedding. Jameson was small but mighty. Little Jameson was in the NICU for 8 days, then had to spend nearly a month out of the hospital before he was cleared to fly back to Chicago area, his home. Jon and Katie were unprepared for the expenses of extended hotel stays, rental cars, and purchasing all the needed baby supplies while out of state.

Jon was able to take the time off, but without pay, which put a terrible strain on their finances. All was getting back to normal when on the morning of January 17th 2019, Jon came home from work to find Katie unresponsive on the floor. Katie was rushed to Kishwakee hospital in DeKalb where she was immediately placed on life support. She has been in a coma ever since. While the doctors still haven’t determined the cause, she was transferred from Kishwakee hospital in DeKalb to Northwestern University in Chicago, where she remains. In order for Jon to visit her, he must lose a day of pay. Due to this, Jon has to continue working to provide insurance for his family while sacrificing sleep to be with his wife. Bills are piling up, putting a great strain on Jon. Not one to ever ask for a hand, this family really could use help, and prayers. At this time, Katie’s future is very uncertain. Any contribution to this incredible family would be so very appreciated. Jon’s parents have temporarily relocated from TN to live with him and care for little Jameson.
