Kathmandu's Skate park

Ujwol Dangol established Hamro Skate Shop in Kathmandu in 2015.
After opening the shop he was always being asked by his clients where they could skate but he never had an answer due to the condition of the roads. Looking for land and a project in mind he started to plan the build for a skate park. After trying on numerous occasions to have support from the government he decided to go private. After looking at many pieces of land to lease his father helped him pick a space in Dallu, with a little help from Skatemandu a non-profit organistion and ramps being sponsered by “Make life, Skate life” he created Kathmandu’s first and only skate park.

I, Meg De Young, recently visited Kathmandu's only skatepark and created a mini photo documentary out of my visit. Through these images I would like to raise $1500 for Kathmandu's skate community to purchace lights and better fencing by February 11th.  Sun sets in Kathmandu at 4.30pm, not giving the local kids enough time after school to skate. Funding these lights would mean they would be able to skate for longer as well as providing a space for older skaters who finish work later then the younger skaters who are at school. The current fence does not provide any security at night, with skateboards and other valuables being kept in the shed plus the maintenance of the park being quite costly. The funding provided would help provide a safer skating environment, while also letting the locals watch with a clear view from the sidelines.

Spending $50 or over will not only help our goal but you will also recieve an A4 size, fine art quality print of a image of your choice from my documentary. All images from my documentary series are provided below.

Not only would this mean so much to me but to the local and future skaters of Kathmandu.
