Kathleen Callan is the amazing lady that owns Thursday. I am sure many of you have seen her posts on his original injury, to his progress over the last few month.
Kathleen needs our help now to continue Thursday's treatment. Lets all help her continue to help this alpaca she loves, and has sacrificed so much to give him a normal life again.

Please help Thursday, a stunning and totally charming alpaca. We would like to save his life so he can continue to do what he loves best—inspire people. The young redhead was being loaded into the trailer, headed for a show so his lovely fiber and physique could fascinate the judge when he spooked and jammed one of his front feet into an impossibly small opening in the trailer. He panicked and thrust the other in as well and flopped over suffering compared fractures to both legs. I thought he would die but despite his obvious pain he looked into my eyes and I saw his strong will to live. How he has worked on his survival! That was his own decision and we followed his lead. He taught himself to spring up and catch himself on two legs and two casts rather than be hoisted with a pulley within three days and has walked every day since then. For almost five months his strength and determination have carried him through. The reality is that the right leg had to be amputated below the knee and the other has serious problems at the knee and foot joints. He needs a bigger facility with more resources to help figure out what his options are. Why not just put him down? Because he loves life and people and sunshine and laughter and the girls in the next pen think he’s just so cute. He draws himself up as tall as he can to show them he still has the right stuff. His life changed dramatically when he was given a fantastic prosthetic leg so he is taller and prouder than ever. He has always walked—on casts, on his healing stump, on his bandaged leg—but now he has a knee and he has been walking around flexing it because he can! “Look at this everyone!” But he also has an infection in the left leg and it desperately needs attention or he could lose it and his life. I have spent hours, day and night, looking for a solution and found that I need to take him to a veterinary hospital out of my area that has more extensive facilities. Given what we have already spent, I’m not sure we can come close to covering the costs. If we can raise enough money to save him, we intend to take him to veterans homes, schools, children’s hospitals, and nursing homes. He is quite the gentleman, fond of attention and petting, and quite housebroken. A little trailer that has running lights, a solid floor, and decent tires would be nice... but first we are praying for that vet visit and knowledge of what he will be up against this time.
