Help Kate Not To Become Homeless!

I am a friend of Kate’s. If you know Kate, you know she is one of the most generous, loving, creative, and inspiring people to walk the planet. She works as an artist and you can see her work here and here.

Things started getting rough for Kate a few months ago, and now she desperately needs help from kind fellow humans. Kate suffers from severe PTSD as a consequence of a brutal sexual assault in her childhood. She has no money to get help from a mental health professional and, probably as part of her PTSD, she is cripplingly agoraphobic and a severe migraine sufferer (so much so that she is not safe to drive). Her art is her life, and she’s good at it.

Art, however, pays little. Until recently, Kate could rely on her mom for support and help. Because of tragic circumstances that have affected both her and her mom and which Kate doesn’t feel like discussing publicly, her mom is now unable to help her.

Kate is alone, without any income, and on the brink of losing her house to creditors who won a chapter 7 bankruptcy ruling in an unfair hearing.

Kate has two adult dogs and a number of puppies from a single litter that she rescued. Without the dogs and the puppies Kate would be absolutely alone.

Without any money and about to lose her house and dogs, Kate is literally facing homelessness, wretchedness, and destitution. All her relatives, including her remarried father, have washed their hands of her.

I am asking you, Kate’s online community, to help Kate in this make-or-break moment of her life. She needs money to pay for a lawyer who’ll fight so that she can keep her house; she also needs money to make it through this intensely traumatic time so that she can get back on her feet and hopefully help her mom get back on her feet too. Right now, Kate lives off the money kind friends give her, and from the sales of her artwork (and by the way, feel free to purchase her stuff; it is now going at a good discount). She and her doggies go days without eating. She lost water (it was restored) and she could not renew her phone contract. Life is crumbling for Kate and she is desperate and terrified.

Please help Kate with a donation of any amount so that she can keep living and soon resume thriving as a young woman and an artist. Any amount will give Kate a much-needed reprieve and the assurance that she is not alone during this terrible time.
