Kat and Trev's Hurricane Fund

Like many Houstonians, Trevor Smith and Katherine Cushman were affected by the hurricane that hit the city, and lost everything they owned in the flooding. Their home is more than 6 feet under water. Their possessions will likely remain submerged for another month or longer, and when they're finally recovered, it's highly likely that the majority of their belongings will be too waterlogged and contaminated by the flood waters to be salvaged. As a pair of twenty-somethings in Houston, life was hard enough before Hurricane Harvey, but now, the entirety of their shared adult lives has been washed away. Trevor's car, Katherine's novel-in-progress, their photos and their sentimental possessions.

The pair didn't own all that much to begin with, but what little they did own was treasured; they hope to replace their necessities.

It is estimated that between the two of them, $5,000.00 covers the vast majority of their furniture, a used car to replace Trevor's Volkswagen, and their other concerns like clothing and supplies of that nature. As heartbreaking as it is to know they will never get back the memories lost in the flooding, they are staying strong thanks to the help of their families, their neighbors in Houston, and their friends all across the world, as well as their renewed faith in God.
