Kassy is my baby girl. She is a 10 year-old vibrant little girl that is currently resting at home after having surgery to repair a condition known as Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis. (SCFE). One of the most severe cases.
She had been complaining of knee pain for a while and we had her in physical therapy but she took a tumble with her crutches which landed us in the ER. After many hours it was concluded that her growth plate between the ball and socket of her hip has slid off like an ice cream come and if not repaired could lead to necroses of the leg and many other problems.
As a precautionary measure they put a screw in the right side to hold that plate in place as well as putting the displaced one back in place with two screws.
The reason for the Go Fund Me is that I am disabled also. I pulverized my hip in a car accident many years ago and have sustained life long injuries as a result. Why is this relevant you ask? Because when it comes to moving my baby (when I say baby...Kassy is 5'2 and 149 at TEN YEARS OLD...thus part of the reason the plates slipped she is growing too fast.) I can't move her at all. She is afraid to hurt me and I'm afraid to drop her. This is why the Hubs is here and not working (well and the fact that his little girl had surgery) we are not a financially secure family and this is putting us in a bind. She is non-weight bearing on the left leg for six weeks, using a walker and wheel-chair to get around. Hopefully she will be back on her feet just in time for school to start.
So if you can help, anything would be wonderful...a simple share in a group or anywhere would be fabulous.
We have doctors appointment that are two hours away plus we also have two other older children at home. We need to get through the next six weeks to the light at the end of the tunnel.
