Karma's Going to London!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about the opportunity I've been given. I am currently a rising junior in the Theatre Department at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. After performing Richard III and auditioning with a Shakespearean monologue, I am one of three students from Ellington that have been accepted into the British American Drama Academy's (BADA) Midsummer Conservatory Program which will take place at Oxford University in London this summer. In this program, I will have the chance to study Shakespeare and theatre at Oxford University in London for four weeks.

The Midsummer Conservatory Program, run by the British American Drama Academy, is a four week conservatory acting program for 16-18 year olds. The program concentrates on three approaches to acting Shakespeare: text-based preparation, characterization, and movement. Its principal objective is to assist students in developing their skills as classical Shakespearean actors so that they are better able to meet the challenges of college, conservatory, or drama school.

Here's where I'm hoping you can help; I was awarded a full scholarship for the tuition, however, I'm still responsible for room & board and travel fees.

I am a very hard worker and am deeply in love with theatre. This is an amazing opportunity that I've been blessed with. I've been pursuing and attending Creative Arts based schools since the third grade and would love to learn even further. Any donation amount is deeply appreciated and I'm very grateful for the help.
