Who are we?


 
We are a group of young Palestinian actors who graduated from The Drama Academy-Ramallah/Palestine, in a partner ship with Folkwang university/Germany . Despite being faced with a lack of opportunities, we managed to take our first step in this profession by completing those three years of intensive training with a German curriculum of one of the most important acting methods in the world.

Considering the fact that the Palestinian Authority does not have the ability to support a growing theatre movement, it is difficult to build momentum in our field of work. The role of supporting theatre in our community has been left mostly to the foreign non governmental organisations or bodies, and we find this to be consistently problematic. The support for artistic projects which comes from these non governmental bodies is usually a conditioned support; therefore supporting the organisation's own vision and agenda, rather than that of the community. We believe that this has resulted in a large divide between the theatre and the audiences they try to address.

What is our vision?

As young members of the Palestinian community, we believe that we carry a big responsibility to that community; to reclaim the theatre for the people by addressing the difficulties they face through this vital form of cultural expression. We aim to do this through high quality performances, authenticity of subject matter, and a genuine and continuous connection with society.

With this responsibility in mind, and following some post graduation years working separately with various companies, we decided to come together as a group to create and build on our own ideas.  We have started our project, without any financial support, and we are currently creating a theatre piece which was written based on our discussions, creative writing workshops, and personal stories. The ensuing discussion is one which delves into the social and political situation of the Palestinians, within the contemporary circumstances. 

Our theatre Piece is growing through improvising on our research idea,which entitled The Shok.

the shock consists of 18 titles that the cast has worked on individually and collectively. All of these titles relate to the wide repercussions and domino effect of a traumatic or shocking event.This repercussive effect reflects the daily life of the Palestinian civilian, who lives through these shocks day in, and day out.

What do we need?

Logistically, in order to implement our first project, we will need to raise $8,600.

$1000: Renting a training hall for the rehearsal and production period of two months;

$1200: Accomodation for the actors throughout the rehearsal and production period;

$800: Set and Costumes;

$1000: Renting theatre lights and sound system for the period of two months;

$1400: Wages for two technicians for two months' work;

$2800: Renting four theatre halls in Nablus, Bethlehem, Hebron and Ramallah for performances;

$300: Transportations;

$100: Advertising and media costs.

What would we like you to do?

Unless we receive these vital funds, we will unfortunately not be able to continue and implement this important vision into our society. We believe that raising the funds for this project relying solely on the support of large numbers of individuals would be a beautifully strong message of hope to our community, and would be greatly in line with our vision and philosophy.

من نحن؟

نحن مجموعة شبابية امتهنت التمثيل من خلال الدراسة في اكاديمية الدراما- رام الله /فلسطين.
بالشراكة مع جامعة فولكوانغ للفنون الادائية/ المانيا.

رغم قلة الفرص العملية في مجال المسرح في فلسطين الا اننا اتممنا هدفنا الاولي في هذا المجال وهو الدراسة لمدة ثلاث سنوات مكثفة لتخصص التمثيل بمنهاج الماني تابع  لاهم اساليب التمثيل العالمية..

الان نحن نبحث عن فرص حقيقية لاستمراريتنا في هذا المجال، الذي من النادر جدا ان تتوفر له فرص.

وبالنظرإلى حقيقة أن السلطة الفلسطينية ليس لديها القدرةعلى دعم الحركة المسرحية المتزايدة ،فمن الصعب بناء الزخم في مجال عملنا، وخصوصا ان معظم المؤسسات الداعمة للمشاريع المسرحية، هي مؤسسات اجنبية لها اجنداتها الخاصة التي تفرض علينا نمطا خاصا للعمل ورسالة محددة لاطلاقها للمشاهد، وعادة ما تكون هذه الرسالة غير مرتبطة بمجتمعنا ولا تمت له بصلة واحيانا تصل الى حد تحديد طريقة العمل وتحديد عناصر الفرجة المسرحية. الامر الذي دفع الجمهور الفلسطيني الى الانقطاع عن التواصل مع المسرح والحركة المسرحية.

ما هي رؤيتنا؟

كشباب فلسطيني نشعر بمسؤلية كبيرة لاستعادة الثقة التي يفتقدها المسرح من قبل المواطنين والجمهور؛ ومن ضمن ذلك ايضا، نشر هذه الثقافة بحرفية عالية وجودة متميزة وعمق اصيل وارتباط مع المجتمع.

ومع وضع هذه المسؤولية  بالاعتبار، وبعد بضع سنوات من التخرج والعمل بشكل منفصل مع جهات اخرى، قررنا معا كمجموعة خلق وبناء أفكارنا على ارض الواقع . بدأنا مشروعنا، دون أي دعم مالي اعتمادا على جهودنا الشخصية، 

ركزنا جهودنا الان بعمل مسرحي يناقش عمق الوضع الاجتماعي والسياسي الداخلي لنا كفلسطينيين ضمن الظروف المعاصرة، والذي كان نتاج اشهر من النقاشات وورشات الكتابة الابداعية وتوثيق القصص الشخصية الاستثنائية


 عملنا المسرحي يتطور حاليا من خلال الارتجال على فكرة
 بحثنا المعنون بـ  : الصدمة، والذي يتألف من 18 موضوعة، عُمِلَ على كل منها على أساس فردي وجماعي . وحيث تتصل بالتداعيات المؤلمة والصادمة، الناتجة عن الاحداث الكبيرة  التي استمرت على امتداد عقود من الاعوام وما زالت تستمر في هذه البقعة من العالم، وانعكاس الاثر الرجعي لكل ذلك على الحياة اليومية للمواطن الفلسطيني ، الذي ما زال يعيش داخل اثر هذه الصدمات يوما بعد يوم.

ماذا نحتاج؟

نحن نتوقع الحصول على مبلغ يساوي 8600 دولار لنستطيع عرض العمل في معظم الاماكن المتوفرة في المدن الفلسطينية لا تترددو في دعمنا ، فاي امكنايات مادية سنحصل عليها ستتوجه حالا لتحقيق اول خطوة لاتمام هذا العمل. وهي استئجار مكان للتدريب، وبالتالي البدء في بناء العمل المسرحي.

إن لم نستطع تجميع تكاليف العمل، فنحن وللأسف لن نكون قادرين على الاستمرار وتنفيذ هذه الرؤية المهمة في مجتمعنا. ونحن نعتقد أن جمع الأموال لهذا المشروع بالاعتماد على دعم أعداد كبيرة من الأفراد سيكون رسالة قوية وجميلة من الأمل في مجتمعنا ، و سيكون إلى حد كبير توافقاً مع رؤيتنا و فلسفتنا.
