Cara Maney

Our good friend and neighbor, Cara Maney,  was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma.  During the past few months, she has been undergoing chemotherapy in Boston, that will continue throughout the summer months.

Cara and her loving husband, Joe,  live in Lynnfield and have four beautiful daughters.  Their oldest,  Calle, is graduating from UNH this year, Maddy is graduating from Essex Tech in Middleton, Gabby attends Lynnfield Middle School, and Nola is part of our Summer Street School family as a first grader.

For those of you who know Cara, she will not hesitate to help family,  friends, and even strangers if and when  a need arises.

Despite this medical setback, Cara has continued to work to support her family even on days that seem unbearable and simply exhausting.  She is maintaining a positive outlook in battling this condition, managing to  keep a smile on her face everyday.

While we are confident and hopeful that her treatment will be a success,  Cara has a tough journey ahead of her.  She is battling everyday and is staying strong  for her family during this trying time.

We are raising funds to help support Cara and her family with their medical expenses and to increase awareness of this disease.  Hodgkin Lymphoma is an uncommon type of lymphoma or blood cancer that affects the lymph nodes and white blood cells in the body that fight infection.
