Campaign Approaches $25k Goal…Help Us Cross the Finish Line!
The Reve Kandale Foundation is well on its way to providing new, safe classrooms and a girls’ dormitory for Kandale’s 1,400 students. With your help, we are now more than two-thirds of the way to reaching our campaign goal of purchasing a brick-making machine by August 31, 2017!
An anonymous donor is offering to pitch in with a $500 matching grant if we can raise an additional $5,000 by July 15. This is a chance for you to make your contribution count even more. Please consider giving $100, as we would need just 50 donors to make the goal for the matching grant. If $100 is not possible, please consider $50. Every contribution helps us get closer to the goal so that we can take advantage of this generous offer of a matching donation.
A few highlights from our campaign thus far:
▪ More than 100 donors have become brick makers by contributing to the campaign
▪ Local community members in Kandale and Congo’s capital of Kinshasa have donated over $1,400 to support on-the-ground projects and coordination
▪ The campaign received a $5,000 grant from the Presbytery Global Mission
▪ Two house parties resulted in more $4,000 in donations (and lots of fun!)
Your generosity will make it possible for hundreds of schoolchildren in the Bandundu region of Congo to get an education in a safe and nurturing environment. Thank you very much, or as we say in Kandale: Merci mingi!
The Brick Making Campaign Story: New Classrooms for Kandale's Schoolchildren
Are you a brick maker? For many years, crumbling schools in Kandale, Congo have left children without a proper classroom or materials to receive the most basic education. In other cases, girls from surrounding villages can’t even attend school because there is no dormitory to house them. You can help change this and provide hope to hundreds of school children by becoming a brick maker!
The Reve Kandale Foundation (www.revekandale.org) is raising $25,000 to purchase a brick making machine. The brick making machine is a reliable and efficient way to manufacture bricks that will be used to build safe, well-made classrooms for Kandale’s children. Your support will not only build a school, it will build the future of the Kandale community and give the children of Kandale the opportunity to reach their full potential.
