Kameryn's Mission Trip-Allison Hill

Thank you for your consideration in supporting me in my first mission trip!
God has created an amazing opportunity for me to go on a mission trip with my youth group.
This trip is a little bit different than a typical mission trip as we will be staying local, centered in the Allison Hill district of Harrisburg, PA. You may be wondering why it has been decided to stay local. Here are a few great reasons:
-Allison Hill has more single mother households than 98.4% of all neighborhoods in America.
-The residents of Allison Hill have a lower average income than 96.4% of all neighborhoods in America and 65.7% of the children live under the poverty line.
-Harrisburg is rated as the 25th most dangerous city in America.
And all in our own back yard! This is a vicious cycle of hopelessness that will continue until somebody stands up and challenges the system.
My youth group, Heirborn is partnering this summer with Wildheart Ministries in Allison hill. Wild heart Ministries has been living in Allison Hill since July of 2014. They have been developing programs to help the neighborhood to see lasting changes occur and we are excited to be a part of what they are doing.
The week of July 24-30, 2017 we will be living in Allison Hill at Wildheart Ministries and participating in the various service projects. We will be picking up trash, assisting single moms and families in the surrounding neighborhoods to paint and repair their homes and yards, running kids activities, and evangelizing. We'll also be helping to change the atmosphere through prayer and worship. Our week will conclude with a large block party for the residents of Allison Hill. The best part about partnering with Wildheart Ministries is the impact we are able to make in this week will continue as Wildheart Ministries is a stable, loving environment we are partnering with to see lasting change.
I am extremely excited about this opportunity! However, none of this will be possible without plenty of support.
First and most important, would you pray for for myself and my team? You can pray that the love of God is shown through us and also for the people who live in Allison Hill to have open and receptive hearts! You can also pray for protection over our team.
Second, I would like to extend the opportunity to you to help make this trip possible for me. The cost for one person is $450. You contributions are greatly appreciated!
