Please help us lift up my sister Kaleigh in this valley she has been facing. Whether it be through prayer, emotional, or financial support my family greatly appreciates your kindness.
Kaleigh was diagnosed with Diabetes at 14 months of age, along with other autoimmune disorders. The journey towards health has been a wild roller coaster, one most can’t even fathom.
Along with many adversities she has faced, this past year has been a huge pull on us all.
In April 2018 Kaleigh had double retinal detachments resulting in emergency surgery in both eyes.
8 surgeries so far.
She has become incredibly visually impaired. This has forced her to have to leave her job that she loved as a social worker, caring for persons with mental and physical handicaps.
She lost her ability to drive.
She had to move back to our parents, and had to give up her 2 paw babies ...(dog mom’s will understand the heart break)
This has been an extremely hard time and we just pray for strength and grace for her.
Kaleigh has lost all health insurance. This is scary in itself because of how expensive living a life with diabetes and illness can be.
Kaleigh still needs 2-3 more surgeries. A cataract removal in the right eye and then an eyelid lift for both eyes due to muscle damage around the eyes caused by numerous eye surgeries. After this, two laser treatments to optimize vision further and completely destroy the cataracts. These surgeries are not covered by insurance or Medicaid and need to be paid in full prior to treatment. Without help Kaleigh will not be able to afford these necessary surgeries.
Our goal is to be able to cover the cost of the up coming surgeries and help put a dent in the medical bills that have accumulated over the last 1.5 years that she has not been able to keep caught up on. This will hopefully give my sister a chance to just focus on healing.
