Kaleidoscope Kat's Fire Relief

If your child goes to North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary, you likely know their AMAZING Kaleidoscope Site Coordinator, Kat. She is a key figure at the school, involved in much more than just one of CCSD's top afterschool programs. You may also know her from the time she spends helping volunteer at school and community events. Her energy is infectious and she always spends her time making life better for those around her. Her smile and playful personality instantly brighten a room, and this happens daily for over a hundred of her students at NCCA.
However, you may not know that Kat's apartment burned down in a fire in Goose Creek on 10/2/19. You may also not know that Kat and her wife, Mel, raise four children (Quincey 16, Jocelyn 14, Nathan 12, and Makayla 9). The fire has displaced their family and taken away literally everything they own in the world. Imagine a high school boy that just had a birthday and all of his gifts are instantly gone ..... an elementary girl with no bows or books or toys ..... or parents trying to be strong, but realizing they don't even have a toothbrush and being humbled as they are normally the ones helping others, but find themselves in a situation they cannot will themselves out of.

Even in devastation, Kat's positive demeanor is evident in this article.
Short term shelter is in place at a hotel, but this is going to be a long process with countless needs that haven't even been realized yet.
However, I am so thankful as I am confident that anyone who knows Kat, has or had students in Kaleidoscope and understands the value of a quality Site Coordinator, or believes in helping those in need are going to rally together to help in this time of need. I know that all of her help to others is going to be reciprocated, and that we can all assist in this time of devastation.
