Kajal's Marathon for traumatic brain injuries
Donation protected
On Sunday May 12, Mothers Day my siblings and I were in a traumatic car accident in which we rolled over.
Kajal is a triplet and she was headed to the University of Pittsburgh to complete her last few credits for graduation. An hour into our drive from New Jersey we hydroplaned into the emergency lane from the left lane and we proceeded to flip 4 to 5 times. We landed upside down while Kajal had been ejected from the car on the second flip, her body landing 80 feet away.
Kajal suffered an epidural hematoma due to a lacerated middle meningeal artery which required her skull to be removed to cauterize the bleed and relieve pressure. Her other major injuries included a fractured cervical disk, collar bone, and shoulder blade. Currently, Kajal is still in a mentally and physically traumatic state.
Due to the quick response from the paramedics and trauma team, Kajal is on the road to recovery. Doctors have told us that this will be a year plus long marathon in which she will be working aggressively with Physical and Occupational therapists, alongside a trauma psychologist.
During this time she will have to face numerous struggles along the road to recovery. We ask for any donation big or small to help provide financial means to get Kajal's life back on track.
